Final Assignment

Here's my final project called "The Insider's New York." It's a journalism site about New York City with a focus on stories that show how the city is changing. The site also features practical information that people can use with the city in a down economy (shopping bargains, cheap restaurants, ways to lower your rent etc).

It's aimed at New Yorkers and also people who are interested in the city or who want to come here.

I have two content pages completed, and I have a templated continued page that will be used for all articles on the site. There is a comment box on this continued page. JQuery is used on the thumbnail photos on the first page.

The final project's site map

My project is "The Insider's NYC" a news/journalism site about New York with articles and reports on how it's changing right now. It also has a "news you can use" bent, giving tips on cheap places to go, eat, shop, good places to hear music etc.

This is a site map that helped me figure out the flow of information and how the pages connect.

Wireframe for the final project

This is the first page which will have a blog format with one new story per day, with a photo and comment box. Stories from two days will be on the first page with a link to another page with archived stories. There will also be links on this first page to three features found in different sections of the website.

Class 8: Blog Challenge

Here's a photo of my blog, which basically combines last week's homework and this week's so I could get both working. Click here for the link.

Wish I'd had more time to make it look pretty.
